The couple took him to the vet, he didn't look a well-loved pet.
Scruffy coat, tired eyes, "owners" – refused to recognise.
Shaky legs, "turned in" tail, the vet alone could see how frail. So despondent and neglected, but worst of all, he felt rejected.
The vet then said "You’ll have to part. This poor little dog, you’ve broken his heart.
