By Lillian and Aub Mattner, Loxton
Forty years ago on January 20, 1972 we arrived in Loxton as teachers with a young family. We intended to stay for four years and then transfer to Adelaide.
However, we fell in love with Loxton almost instantly. Its community spirit, genuine and friendly people, strong Christian traditions and beautiful landscape really appealed to us.
So we made Loxton our home.
It was a wonderful place in which to raise a family and now, a generation later, grandchildren love their Loxton holidays.
In retirement we briefly flirted with the idea of moving to the seaside but realised that we could never leave. Our hearts are truly here.
This letter is to thank everyone who has been part of our Loxton journey and has given us friendship, support, love and happy times.
We feel so blessed to have the privilege of calling Loxton home. Thank you all.
